Retuning of Satellite Receivers - Summer 2008

Hope Channel satellite broadcasts are changing frequency this summer. This is due to a reallocation of frequencies by the owners of the Hotbird Satellite and is beyond the control and wish of Hope Channel Europe. To ensure continuity of programming you will need to retune your receiver to 11585 GHz as soon as possible. For the technically minded the details for the new channel are:

Satellite: Hotbird (13 degrees east). Frequency: 11585 GHz. Polarization: vertical. Symbol Rate: 27.5Mb. FEC 3/4.

For the less technically minded Jack Rayne, who has installed many satellite receivers in the Welsh Mission, has given us the following retuning information for three different makes of satellite receiver:
 

ONE - TECHNOMATE 5000 AND 5500

Password: 0000

Use the centre buttons on remote control to go up and down left and right to navigate menu system.
Press on Menu on remote control
Right press or left press onto Installation
Press down button to go to Advance Search then press OK
Press down button to Frequency then type in 11585
(If you make a mistake press up then down back onto frequency then re-enter 11585)
Press down button to Symbol Rate then type in 27500
Press down button to Polarization then right press to change to VER
Press down button to FEC then right press to change to ¾
Press down button to Search Type then right press to change to FTA
Press OK to search (Tuning Finished) Press exit twice to get back to Installation
Left press to get to Main Menu Press OK on Edit Channels
(This will allow you to delete unwanted channels. A list of channels will be seen) Press OK
Press Down button to highlight Delete. Press OK. Press down to highlight the channels to be deleted
Press OK then left press to say YES then Press OK
##### MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT DELETE 3ABN AND HOPE CHANNEL #######
Continue to Press OK and left press until you have deleted all unwanted channels
( If you delete 3ABN or Hope channel you will have to start again from the beginning)
Press Exit twice to get to TV picture

If you want to delete the unwanted RADIO CHANNELS press TV/RAD press menu then press OK on
Edit Channels then continue as above to delete unwanted radio channels. Press TV/RAD to get your picture
 

TWO - INSTRUCTIONS FOR TECHNOMATE 1000D

Password: 0000

Use the CH (up & down) and VOL (left & right) buttons navigate menu system
You will also use the MENU OK and EXIT buttons
Press buttons to Highlight Advance Search Press OK
Press down button to Highlight Transponder. Press right button to access Transponder [frequency] list
Press up or down buttons to find number 11585 (new Hope Channel frequency) Press OK
Symbol Rate will be 27500
Polarization is V or VER (FEC 3/4)
Search Type FTA
Press RED Button to Scan for Channels
You should now have a list of channels installed
To edit unwanted channels go to Edit Channels and delete unwanted channels
Do not delete 3ABN or the Hope Channel
Do the same with Radio Channels
 

THREE - INSTRUCTIONS FOR TECHNOMATE 3000 SERIES

Password: 0000

Use the CH (up & down) and VOL (left & right) to navigate menu system
You will also use the MENU OK and EXIT buttons
Press Menu button. Password: 0000
Press right and down buttons to highlight Advanced Search Press OK
Press down button to highlight Transponder Press OK
Press down button a number of times till you highlight 47 11585 V 27500. Press OK
(Polarization will be VER Symbol Rate will be 27500 Network search will be off Search Type to be FTA ONLY)
Press RED (TTX) button [next to the green button] to search for new channels. Press Exit button
Press left and right buttons to highlight Edit Channels Press OK
To delete unwanted channels Press GREEN button on highlighted channels. A cross will appear next to the channel to be deleted
( Do not delete 3ABN or Hope Channel)
When you have put a cross next to all the channels to be deleted Press Exit
Press left button to say YES then Press OK Press EXIT button 3 times to get a picture
To edit unwanted radio channels Press TV/RAD button and do the same for Edit Channels
